With the demise of the Amazon’s Product Advertising API for all calls that are not revenue generating in January 2019, users of Librarian Pro are now expected to create their own Amazon Associates Account in order to use arguably the most useful feature of Librarian Pro – the auto-filling of item details based on their barcode using Amazon.
Creating an Amazon Associates Account requires either having a website or mobile app that you intend to display “banners, widgets, Special Links or other ads from Amazon Associates”. This is simply not possible nor desirable for most users I would wager, myself included.
Apparently a mechanism to reinstate this functionality without relying on Amazon is in the works with Koingo. In the mean time, is there a shared Amazon Associates Account that has been created (by Koingo or someone else) that can be used in place of every user having to have their own?
This move from Amazon is a real pain in the neck for apps like this, but I would really like to see a better workaround.
